The History of Gehl Excavator

Volvokoncernen, known in the United States as the Volvo Group) is a Swedish concern. It produces commercial and trucks, special equipment, buses, engines and various equipment. Previously, Volvo also produced passenger cars, but in 1999 sold its passenger car division under the name Volvo Personvagnar (Volvo Cars) to Ford, which in 2010 resold it to Geely.

The construction equipment market offers machines of various manufacturers, types and purposes. One of the most famous and popular in the construction industry, road infrastructure and housing and communal services are Volvo wheeled excavators, which have proven themselves when working even in the most difficult conditions. Consider the main technical characteristics of these machines, and also determine the key criteria for choosing an excavator model, based on the specifics of the work.

Reliable and productive, Volvo wheeled excavators are available in a wide range of models, each with a specific bucket capacity. In compact models of equipment, it can be small, in larger machines with a larger operating weight, it can be large and roomy. The most common models have a bucket with a capacity of up to:

0.27 m³;

0.82 m³;

1.1 m³.

With large volumes of earthworks, it makes sense to pay attention to models of equipment with a large bucket, as this will speed up the process of excavation when digging trenches and pits.

Two other important characteristics of Volvo wheeled excavators are power and operating weight. They also affect the performance of the equipment and must be selected based on specific operating conditions. Models of 130kW or more are ideal for use in the busiest and toughest conditions, such as difficult terrain or where you need to negotiate slopes and small obstacles. The high power of the machines allows you to perform large volumes of work in the shortest possible time. However, the cost of such equipment is higher, so its purchase should always be justified by specific operating conditions. Models with a lower power of 47 and 110 kW are suitable for less intensive use and less work per unit of time. As a rule, such models are lighter, more compact and maneuverable - their operating weight is lower than that of more powerful "brothers".
