The History of BELL Trucks

Now Bell is a brand from South Africa, famous all over the world. The company employs about 2500 employees. The company, which initially covered only the southern market of the African continent, now has offices and production sites in more than 70 countries around the world. Among them are Germany, France, Spain, Great Britain, USA. The main sales markets for equipment abroad are England, the countries of North America and Asia.

Bell B45E 4×4 at Bauma 2019

Half of the new truck is essentially a 6×6 model, the Bell B45E 4×4 is designed using proven technologies that have proven successful on other company vehicles. Specifically, the truck is powered by a 390 kW (530 hp) six-cylinder in-line Mercedes Benz engine, optimized for off-road use, mated to a seven-speed Allison automatic transmission. This combination gives the new articulated truck outstanding driving performance and low fuel consumption. The use of wet brakes on both axles, in conjunction with the Jacobs engine brake, allows for multi-stage programmable automatic deceleration. The new product uses a standard Bell cab, providing excellent visibility and comfortable conditions for the operator.

In designing the rear chassis and 25 m³ body, the designers drew on experience from the flagship of the Bell 4×4 range, the B60E, designed and optimized for heavy-duty use. With its wide geometry and flat bottom, the 41 ton body is a perfect fit for the quarry loader and has better filling characteristics than longer 6x6 bodies of the same volume.

In addition to the advantages listed above, the 4x4 configuration, due to the shorter wheelbase, is superior to 6x6 trucks in terms of maneuverability.

Series production of the Bell B45E 4x4 articulated truck is scheduled to begin in April 2019, immediately after the end of Bauma. Like all Bell 4x4 models, the trucks will be manufactured at Bell Equipment's main plant in Richards Bay, South Africa. Delivery of the first machines will begin in early summer this year.
