The History of PALMS trailer

For many centuries, loggers have successfully used carts to haul wood out of the forest. At first, these were horse-drawn carts, which, by the way, have not lost their relevance even now. Modern tractor timber trailers for timber harvesters are produced in many European countries. Recognized leaders in the production and operation of this equipment are Finland, Sweden and Germany. PALMS (Estonia), in cooperation with the Finnish company Farmi, has mastered the production of timber trailers and manipulators, constantly expanding the range and improving its products. It is PALMS that produces today one of the widest ranges of timber trailers and manipulators in Europe and is among the leaders in sales. PALMS today offers consumers 8 models of timber trailers with a carrying capacity of 6t, 8t, 9t, 10t, 11t, 12t, 13t and 15t. For professional foresters working in heavy soils or rugged terrain, trailers are available with hydraulic wheel drive with the index 2WD or 4WD.

Light models of timber trailers with a load capacity of 6t, 8t, 9t and 11t are manufactured with a single-tube frame design. This design allows you to easily adjust the distance between the legs of the trailer for transporting wood assortments of various lengths. As a rule, the 11-ton PALMS-101 trailer model with a single-tube frame structure is used by firewood harvesters to transport even meter-long timber. However, it is undesirable to operate trailers with a single-tube frame design for transporting heavy timber, as this can lead to deformation of the trailer frame. The PALMS 10t, 12t, 13t and 15t timber trailers use a twin-tube frame design to carry the heaviest timber without the risk of breaking the trailer.
