Mercedes-Benz is today one of the brands of the truck division (Truck Group) of DaimlerChrysler Corporation and the world's leading truck sales brand. Production facilities and car factories that assemble Mercedes trucks are located in Germany, France, Turkey, and Mexico. More than 140,000 trucks are supplied to consumers under the Mercedes-Benz brand every year, half of them to Western European countries, where Mercedes-Benz has the largest market share among European and global manufacturers - 22%.

Mercedes-Benz is a German luxury car manufacturer headquartered in Stuttgart. The company has a very rich history. In 1883, German engineer Karl Benz founded Benz & Co. Three years later, the company creates the world's first car with 3 wheels and receives a patent for it. In 1983, Karl Benz launches the 4-wheel Victoria with a 3 hp engine. In 1895, the first models of trucks and buses were created. In parallel with these events, the designer Gottlieb Daimler founded the German company Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft in 1890. In addition to cars, this company also produced engines for aircraft and ships. Hence the emblem in the form of a 3-beam star - earth, air and water. Daimler's partner, Wilhelm Maybach, creates in 1901 a car that was named after the daughter of the consul of the Austro-Hungarian Empire - Mercedes. The firstborn was named Mercedes-35Р5. The car had a four-cylinder engine with a volume of 5.913 liters.

The Mercedes-35P5 was the basis for the rest of the cars produced since 1902 under the name Mercedes-Simplex. The popular 60PS model of this series reached a speed of 90 km/h, which was an excellent achievement for that time. In 1926, the firms Daimler and Benz are merged into one, and the concern receives the name Daimler-Benz, Ferdinand Porsche became its head. At the same time, the K series is created, the model of which is 24/110/160 PS with a compressor engine. The car could reach speeds of 145 km / h. In 1930, the world gets acquainted with the Mercedes-Benz-770 model, the engine of which had 8 cylinders with a volume of 7.655 liters. and developed a power of 200 hp. In 1934, the Mercedes-500K appears with an engine capacity of 5 liters. During the Second World War, the company's factories were badly damaged as a result of the bombing by the Anglo-American Air Force. In 1946, Mercedes-Benz resumes the development and production of cars - the first post-war model was the W136 sedan. In 1954, the 300SL sports coupe was produced, the doors of which were the first in the world made in the form of a "gull wing" and opened upwards. At the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1965, the company introduced its flagship sedan W108, which became the ancestor of the modern S-class. In 1968, the German company mastered the mass production of middle class cars Mercedes W114/115. In 1979, a new S-class W126 appears, this car was distinguished by its revolutionary design and excellent driving performance. In the same year, the company released its first SUV, the W460 Gelandewagen. In 1991, Mercedes-Benz launched the production of the legendary S-class W140, which was very popular all over the world. He became the first car in the class to receive a V12 engine. In 1995, the mid-size E-class W210 appears with characteristic round headlights.

Two years later, the company introduced the world to its first ML SUV. In 2002, the company returns to the release of the famous Maybach model and develops the Maybach 57 and Maybach 62 limousines, built on a modified Mercedes S-class W220 platform. With the release of these models, the concern regained its glory as a manufacturer of luxury cars. In the mid-2000s, the German company is developing about 10 new models, mastering new market segments. In 2006, the first full-size GL SUV appears. In 2013, the new S-class W222 is released - this flagship sedan, which is the pride of the company, has collected the latest technologies from the automotive world.
