The History of Combilift forklift

Multi-way forklift manufacturer and long haul solutions provider Combilift officially opened its new global headquarters and manufacturing facility in Monaghan, Ireland on April 26, 2018. The opening is timed to coincide with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Combilift.

Combilift was founded by Robert Moffett and Martin McVicar in 1998. In the year the company was founded, the world's first multi-directional (four-way) forklift with hydraulic all-wheel drive was developed. In the first year of operation, the Combilift plant produced 18 loaders, of which 17 were exported. Over the past 5 years, the company has significantly increased its production figures and currently there are more than 40 thousand units of equipment shipped to more than 85 countries around the world. The company exports 98% of its products through the strongest network of more than 250 dealers worldwide.

CombiLift Combi-CB The Combilift is the world's first forklift with an internal combustion engine and the ability to move in all directions without turning the body. Combilift is a combination of counterbalance forklift, sideloader and reach stacker. By effectively combining the strengths of all three types of material handling equipment, Combilift can truly replace them, which largely explains the average annual sales growth of 35%.

Maneuverability

Thanks to the lateral movement and the telescopic mast, the machine can process

loads in aisles only 2 meters 20 centimeters wide.

The loader can drive perpendicular to the load, pick it up, place it on the platform and move along the position of the load. This allows you to maneuver with a load in confined spaces. A car with a heavy metal structure moves along the same trajectory along which a person would walk with a long board clamped under his arm.

Ergonomics and safety

The operator's cab is particularly comfortable. High landing and panoramic windows provide the driver with a complete overview of the workspace. The seat is placed on shock absorbers, which eliminates the transmission of vibrations and shocks to the driver when driving on uneven surfaces. The direction control system is adjustable with two fingers, the steering is equipped with a hydraulic booster. The cab is equipped with a heater and a ventilation system. All this ensures comfortable and safe work of the operator, reduces the likelihood of an accident.

Work in any conditions

The preheating system allows you to start the engine at a temperature of -40 degrees with the time spent on heating the system in just 10 seconds. Four-wheel drive allows you to operate the machine on rough terrain and in deep snow, solid tires make it possible to move in rooms with debris and on ice.

Economical engines

Kubota diesel engines, which are equipped with a loader, combine the advantages of high power and low fuel consumption - with a power of 44 kW, a five-ton machine consumes only 4.5 liters of diesel fuel per hour. This corresponds to the consumption of 9 liters of diesel per hundred kilometers of vehicle movement.

Reliability

The torque from the engine is transmitted to the wheels by means of a hydrostatic drive. The rotation of the crankshaft is transmitted to an axial piston pump, which creates fluid pressure in the hoses connected to the wheels. The whole system consists of simple and maintainable devices. The absence of complex units in the drive makes the machine very reliable.

Quality

All components for Combilift are manufactured to the highest manufacturing standards.

The cab and base frame are shot blasted prior to painting to ensure optimum paint and post-treatment quality. This eliminates the development of corrosive processes and allows you to operate the machine for many years in any conditions.
