The History of BIS Trucks

This 160-ton dump truck was produced by the Australian resource logistics company Bis. Rexx can transport its cargo for 40 km at a speed of 60 km per hour. This distance is at least four times that of most conventional mining trucks, which have a limited range due to the heating of their oversized tires. The five-axle, 20-tyre design provides increased surface area and reduced ground pressure, enabling the Rexx to perform effectively in all terrain, potholes, and muddy ground on slopes up to 12%, even with one or more punctured tires! At the same time, the steering system provides the truck with a turning radius of only 12.6 m. Quarry tests have shown that Rexx is 30% more economical than classic dump trucks

The most interesting moment in the design of a heavy truck is a five-axle platform with twenty wheels.

With a carrying capacity of about 160 tons, the dump truck is equipped with conventional wheels. This allows the car to travel at a speed of 60 km / h and cover four times the distances than competitors with huge wheels.

As for the Rexx tires themselves, there is a high resistance to overheating and increased durability.

Another important point in the design of the Rexx dump truck is its maneuverability. The machine has a turning radius of only 13.6 meters.
