The History of Daewoo Excavator

South Korean company Daewoo Heavy Industries & Machinery Ltd., widely known as a manufacturer of construction equipment (mini excavators and crawler excavators, wheel excavators and loaders).

The modern model range of Daewoo Solar series excavators includes nine models equipped with backhoe-type working equipment. Heavy models (operating weight from 33.9 to 49.5 tons) are equipped with buckets with a capacity of 1.25-2.0 m3 to 1.83-3.6 m3. Excavators with a lower operating weight (from 13.9 to 29.6 tons) are equipped with buckets with a capacity of 0.28-0.8 m3 to 0.76-1.75 m3. The choice of bucket capacity is determined by the type and physical condition of the developed rocks, the difficulty of their excavation in the face, as well as the load capacity of the dump trucks used in the quarry.

Daewoo hydraulic excavators are equipped with intercooled and turbocharged engines with one of the highest power outputs in their class. The engines installed on the excavator meet the American EPA Tier II requirements and Euro-II European standards.

The undercarriage of crawler excavators is made on the basis of the most modern technologies: a frame of increased strength (fully welded), side frames are rigidly welded to the caterpillar frame. Track rollers, track rollers and idler rollers with floating seals. The tracks of the caterpillar are made of rolled products that have undergone HDTV processing and have three lugs. The hydraulic track tensioning mechanism is made with a shock-absorbing tension spring. Each track is driven by an independent high torque axial piston motor through a planetary gear. Two levers or foot control pedals provide smooth movement or, if necessary, reverse rotation of the tracks.

The spacious, isolated, noise and vibration protected operator's cabin meets ISO requirements. Safety glass windows on four sides provide all-round visibility.

The front window lifts up and stows under the cab ceiling. Side windows open for ventilation. The operator's seat is fully adjustable and tiltable. The cabin is air conditioned. Full sealing of the cabin provides a reduction in external noise to a level comparable to the noise in a modern passenger car.

The electrical control unit is housed in a drawer for easy access and easy maintenance.

During maintenance, a laptop computer is connected to the excavator and is connected to the controller (e-EPOS) of the excavator. 28 different groups of data and machine operation status information are processed, including pump outlet pressure, engine speed, etc. During operation, the monitor in the interior of the machine displays failures of the excavator systems and minor problems that are stored in the computer's memory in real time, which allows you to constantly monitor the status of all components of the excavator and quickly troubleshoot.

It should be noted that even with a complete failure of the electronics in the machine, work can be continued in manual mode, with virtually no loss of productivity.
